This position requires a green thumb; with the ability to assist customers in picking out perennials, grasses, trees, shrubs, and evergreens and ensuring customers have success in their garden.

Garden Centre Retail Sales Associate-Greenhouse:
Sipkens Nurseries is hiring friendly Garden Centre Sales Associates who love to work with people and plants!
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products that set them up for success.
- Be visible and available to customers at all times and keep work posture facing entrances.
- Provide information to customers on garden planning and the care of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and lawns; provide information sheets as needed.
- Understand policies and procedures regarding purchases, delivery, replacements, events, etc.
- Promote services to customers.
- Assist store retail staff with carry outs when required and help to carry and load heavy items to costumers' vehicles.
- Put up safety signs whie watering and warn customers to be cautious.
- Manage pricing and merchandising by accurately pricing stock and tagging plants.
- Perform maintenance duties including cleaning, watering, and caring for plants through proper spacing, weeding, deadheading, and pruning.
Experience:
- Prior experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Passion for plants, gardening and growing.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Attention to detail, strong work ethic, energetic, reliable and accountable.
- Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with customers and team members effectively.
- High school diploma (or working towards)
- Ability to lift 30lbs, stand for long periods and work in diverse weather conditions.
